My job as a wedding photographer takes me to many beautiful locations around Cornwall. One of my absolute favourites has to be Trevenna Barns.
Wild ponies and windswept landscapes lead you to this hidden gem tucked away on Bodmin Moor.
The beauty of Trevenna is that you not only have wonderful backdrops and photo locations on site, you can drive a few minutes and be amongst the moorlands and Colliford Lake.
The lake can be fun for photo opportunities, maybe some rock skimming, hand in hand photos walking by the waterside or even a paddle if you want to get adventurous!
Morning preparations are fun to photograph as all the bridal party gets ready there. Myself and my assistant pop in and out of the rooms. We get photos of the dress and suits hanging up, hair and makeup and the general buzz of the morning. One of us is also outside to catch the wedding guests as they arrive.
Photographing wedding ceremonies at Trevenna Barns are fantastic – whether it be outside under the wooden arbour or inside with views overlooking the moors. The indoor ceremony room is mostly glass so the natural light is perfect for photos.
If you like the idea of sparkler photos then it’s an ideal spot as there’s no light pollution. The oak arbour also looks great if decorated with some fairy lights and can work well for photos.
I’ve photographed many weddings at Trevenna Barns and I’m still finding new angles and locations for photos.
